Registration Requirements
1. Registering to be a Tutor with SmartzTutor is free. However, SmartzTutor reserves all rights as to display or not to display your details to our clients.
2. You must reside in Singapore and must be 18 years old and above with a minimum of 'O' Level qualification or diploma.
Your Account
1. You will receive a password and account designation upon completing SmartzTutor's tutor registration process.
2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. You agree to immediately notify SmartzTutor of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security. SmartzTutor cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply.
3. SmartzTutor reserves the right to refuse service, remove or edit content, or terminate accounts. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or SmartzTutor has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, SmartzTutor has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Service (or any portion thereof).
Tutor Conduct
1. You understand that all information, data, text, photographs, graphics, messages or other materials ("Content"), whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated. This means that you, and not SmartzTutor, are entirely responsible for all Content that you upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available via the SmartzTutor.com.
2. You understand that you are to fill in all personal information as accurately as possible and will not attempt to mislead the students, parents or customers using SmartzTutor's services.
3. You should arrive punctually or let your student know in advance if you have to postpone the lesson or if you expect to be late.
Assignment
1. Once you accept an assignment, you must be committed to the student for at least a month. No tuition fee will be paid and an administrative charge of SGD 50 will be levied if you fail to do so.
2. If a tutor wishes to change his or her mind after the confirmation of an assignment, he or she needs to provide at least 48 hours' notice before the first lesson to allow SmartzTutor to find a replacement tutor. Please note that an administrative charge of SGD 50 will be charged.
3. On the first lesson, you must produce all necessary documents to certify your academic qualifications, credentials and identifications to the student/s or parents.
4. You teach at the place of the student unless otherwise stated on our job form to you.
5. In the event that the parent or student deems you unsuitable for the assignment after the first lesson and terminates before the second lesson, SmartzTutor will collect the first lesson fee directly from the student, you will get half of the lesson fee. You will be informed of suitable assignments in the future.
6. In the even that the parent or student deems you unsuitable for the assignment and terminates during the first month of the tuition, Smartztutor will collect the all lesson fee directly from the student, you will get half of the lesson fee. You will be informed of suitable assignments in the future.
7. You agree that a one-time administration fee of 50% of your first month tuition fee will be payable to SmartzTutor, which SmartzTutor will collect from the student directly. The remaining 50% of the fees will subsequently be payable to you by the student/s at the end of the 4th week.
Tuition Rates
SmartzTutor understands that there are tutors with different experience and qualifications, and thus the rate of charges will be based on the tutor's teaching experience and qualification. The rate of charges will follow the rate as confirmed when both party i.e. tutor and Student, Parent or Customer requesting for Tutors agreed. SmartzTutor records the timestamp of all confirmed assignment.
Place of Tuition
The assigned tutor will by default teach at the residence of the Student unless otherwise indicated by you and you are to provide a reasonable environment for the conduct of lessons.
First Lesson and Change of Tutor
1. On the first lesson or upon meeting up, the tutor is to present his/her credentials and qualifications to the Student for validation.
2. It is your responsibility to ensure that the tutor's credentials and qualifications are satisfactory. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the tutor, you may call SmartzTutor for a change of tutor.
3. The tutor is subjected for acceptance or rejection after the first lesson based on his or her teaching performance. You are to contact us after the first lesson and before the second lesson commence to confirm if you want to accept or reject the tutor.
If you do not wish to continue the tuition after the first lesson, you only pay for that lesson. If you require more lessons to assess tutor, you may do so. You only need to pay for the number of lessons given. There is no obligation that requires you to complete a given amount of lessons. However, kindly make payment for lesson/s conducted during the half of the first month to Smartztutor.
Tutor Commission Charges and Collection
1. SmartzTutor will collect 50% of the first month's lessons fee based on the charges agreed. This is SmartzTutor commission for supplying the tutor. We will issue an invoice to the student before collection. The remaining of the total monthly tuition fees is to be paid directly to the tutor. For subsequent months, you pay the tutor 100% of the tuition fees. The date and mode of payment is be negotiated between the tutor and student or parent.
2. Tutors have no authority to change the commission or tuition fees in any way without the knowledge of SmartzTutor for the first month. Please let us know immediately if the tutor tries to renegotiate the tuition fees, the commission payable to us or tries to by-pass the tuition agency. After the first month, SmartzTutor will not be responsible if the tutor requires a change of tuition rates.
3. Legal action may be taken against those who fail to make payment in which event the respective party will be liable for any further legal costs and charges.
Description of Tutor
While every effort is done to make sure that the tutor's description is accurate, SmartzTutor make no warranty that the description of the tutor is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.

SmartzTutor shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions contained on any SmartzTutor website, and reserves the right to make changes anytime without notice. Mention of non-SmartzTutor products or services is provided for informational purposes only and constitutes neither an endorsement nor a recommendation by SmartzTutor. All SmartzTutor and third-party information provided on any SmartzTutor website is provided on an "as is" basis.
SMARTZTUTOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, WITH REGARD TO ANY INFORMATION (INCLUDING ANY SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, OR SERVICES) PROVIDED ON ANY SMARTZTUTOR WEBSITE OR SERVERS, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
In no event shall SmartzTutor be liable for any damages whatsoever, and in particular SmartzTutor shall not be liable for direct, special, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, or damages for lost profits, loss of revenue or loss of use, cost of replacement goods, loss or damage to data arising out of the use or inability to use any SmartzTutor website, servers, any SmartzTutor product or service. SMARTZTUTOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THIS SITE, ITS SERVERS, OR E-MAIL SENT FROM SMARTZTUTOR.COM ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. This includes damages arising from use of or in reliance on the documents, information present on or from any SmartzTutor website, (including any information posted or placed by anyone other than SmartzTutor), even if SmartzTutor has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
